know yor hunting area
Before committing, the best hunters assess the quality of the bucks that live in an area and try to cover lots of ground with out leaving a human presence . Low -impact scouting is the best option as the breeding season approaches. I like to alway check the sides of dirt roads, and field edges for big tracks. Try speaking to farmers in the area or land owners about deer sightings,it can never hurt.I've always found that glassing at dawn and dusk in open fields have been a low-impact way to scout,or just driving down some old dirt roads in a area of intrest can work. But the best way is to use a trail camera where you the deer are moving. Look for a good active trail, and set up the trail cam. this is about real deer, not ghosts,or wished for dream bucks. But dreams some times do come true.

Are these the kinds of measures that most hunters take? It sounds very time-consuming and intense. I'm curious, too, about how you set up webcams in the woods.
